To promote ball skill work at home the Outlaws Academy created the "Touches on Top of the Ball" challenge. We are proud to announce that the Edward Jones Financial office in Slippery Rock has decided to sponsor this challenge. Players that complete each level of the challenge will receive a t-shirt from Edward Jones signifying their accomplishment. For the challenge, players have a set time limit to perform the required number of touches on the ball in front of the coach prior to a training session. There are currently three levels of ball touches that players ages 8-12 can compete in. The rules are at the bottom of the page.
1000 "White" Touch Club
Players have 10 minutes to complete the challenge
1500 "Silver" Touch Club
Players have 12 minutes to complete the challenge
2000 "Gold" Touch Club
Players have 15 minutes to complete the challenge
5000 "Bronze" Touch Club
Players have 45 minutes to complete the challenge
#1. Players must do the required number of touches in a continuous mannor with no breaks.
#2. Players must have complete control over the ball during the entire process. If the ball strays from the player and the touches stop the challenge is over.
#3. Players will have a set time limit to perform the touches. If the touches are not done in that time frame the challenge is over.
#4. Players will only have three attempts to complete the touches per practice session.
#5. Regardless of the number of touches performed no exceptions will be made for mistakes. All touches must be clean and will be counted by the coach.
#6. A parent must verify that the player has been practicing at home and is capable of completing the challenge prior to the attempt.
