Fall 2018 Outdoor

Fall 2018 Outlaws Academy

The Outlaws Academy will not be forming teams or playing games outdoors.  The Academy is strictly designed to train players in an effort to raise the level of play and participation.  All sessions are intense and focused.  Your child will make recognizable improvement in just a matter of weeks. The Academy will be offering several 8-week outdoor skills training programs this fall.  We are not affiliated with any organization and we are not putting teams together. Therefore, local clubs have no fear of having their players recruited away by a classic soccer club.  On the contrary, our goal is to help you retain the players you have and increase your numbers by offering technical skills training sessions. The more skills a child learns the more likely they are to stay involved in the sport as they get older.  Additionally, we take the training sessions seriously and we expect the players to do so as well.  Disruptive behavior is not tolerated!  We will not allow a player to disrupt a group and distract from the training.  Refund for remaining classes will be given to players asked to leave the class.  You and your child deserve 100% attention from the coaching staff and you will receive it!

Marti Park was on hot tonight but it diden't stop these academy players!

Academy Information:
* Classes at each location run for 8 consecutive weeks.  (There will be no class on Labor Day)
* All classes run for one hour.
* The cost for the 8-week session is $90 and includes an Outlaws Academy t-shirt.
* We start on time! Please have your child at the field and ready for class with their shoes tied.
* Players must bring their own soccer ball and water.  Extra soccer balls are NOT available and sharing a ball is NOT allowed.  Your child will not be able to participate without their own ball.
* All outdoor academy classes will be capped at 20 players.  We want to offer a high-quality product and with more than 20 players it makes it hard for the staff to give individual attention to every child.
* Players should be prepared to put 300-5000 touches on the ball at every training session depending on their individual effort.
* All sessions are focused on individual player development.  Game play or team drills are not part of the program.
* Our focus is only one individual player development.  Therefore, we are able to separate kids by ability level and not age or size.  It is not uncommon for an 8-year old to be training alongside a 12-year old.  We have several 8-year old’s that have developed their individual ball skills far above most high school players in the area.
* We post pictures and weekly training videos on our Facebook page.  Please follow Outlaws Academy for updates and information.  This is the primary resource for getting Academy information to families.
Coaches Training
As the academy director I realize the importance of volunteer coaches in youth soccer.  Most coaches have had little soccer experience, have no interest in getting coaching licenses, yet want to play an important role in their child’s development and coach soccer.  As part of our outdoor training we invite and encourage all coaches to take part in the skills training sessions at no charge.  Coaches can do as little or as much as they feel fit and are encouraged to take notes on the individual skills being taught.  We hope that these coaches will incorporate some of the skills they learn into their training sessions each week.  The staff is also able to help any coach put together a skills warm-up for their team at no charge.  Also, when time permits, I will be happy to run a short 20-minute skills session at no charge for any team in the area.  My goal is to educate/train as many coaches as possible on ball skill development.  Building a strong foundation before moving on to tactics is critical to the success of every child.  My email and phone number are on the website and I am always available to talk.
